THE EVENT: The Mahogany Inn offers the
perfect atmosphere for those planning a
wedding full of romance and old-world charm.
Intimate events and business meetings are
also welcome in the heritage-listed cottage.
THE LOCATION: Although the Mahogany
Inn seems like it's a world away with its
peaceful bushland surroundings, it is just
35 minutes from the Perth CBD.
THE FACILITIES: A gazebo sits in the
quaint garden for wedding ceremonies,
and the bride and groom are offered a
complimentary stay in the Bridal Suite.
Conference facilities are also available.
THE NUMBERS: The Prince of Wales
Function Room seats 80 people and by
opening the adjoining French doors to
the Heritage Restaurant, the capacity is
extended to 100 people -- excellent for
weddings, conferences and other events.
THE FOOD: The Mahogany Inn uses fresh,
local produce in the modern Australian
menu, which includes a Bushman's Platter
serving kangaroo, emu, marron and camel.
A selection of function set menus -- buffet
or cocktail-style -- is available and the chef
can prepare meals for a variety of tastes and
requirements. For something lighter, try the
famous Devonshire tea.
THE BEVERAGES: The wine list contains
primarily West Australian drops including
some from the Perth Hills. There's also a
beer garden and tavern on-site.
THE COMPANY: Established in 1842, the
Mahogany Inn is rich in West Australian
history. Tony and June Aveling have owned
the Inn since February 2008.
