The character of Fremantle Prison creates a dramatic atmosphere for any function.
Fremantle Prison was built by convicts in the
1850s. After 140 years as a place of incarceration
and punishment, it is now a spectacular
location for functions, events and team-building
The Main Cell Block is a four-storey structure,
separated into four different divisions.
Large double doors between each division
mean the venue can be customised to suit your
group size. It is a perfect location for hosting
your own themed events such as a "jailhouse
rock" or "murder mystery" night.
The Commissariat consists of two stylish
underground rooms. With thick limestone
walls, these rooms are ideal for pre-dinner
drinks or cocktail parties.
The Convict Cafe is the newest addition to
Fremantle Prison s selection of venues. Located
in the Gatehouse, the cafe can also provide on-
site catering for prison functions.
The labyrinth of tunnels 20 metres below
Fremantle Prison provides a spectacular
location for the ultimate team-building
After descending the ladder system, your
group will explore the subterranean maze on
foot and by boat. Combine this with use of
the Special Handling Unit Meeting Room for
a complete team-building package.
Along with other spaces including the
East Workshops, Crown Theatre, Prison
Yards, Main Parade Ground, Gatehouse and
two Chapels, Fremantle Prison provides a
wide range of character venues to ensure a
memorable and unique function.
Fremantle Prison tours are an excellent way
to enhance your function. Combine cocktails
in the Commissariat with a spooky torchlight
tour, or get your dinner guests in the mood
with a prison highlights tour.
Fremantle Prison s Gift Shop provides
merchandise to complete your function.
With souvenir keys and enamel "prisoner"
mugs, your guests will cherish their memento
of your great prison function.
