Opulence has a new home -- at 85 South
Perth Esplanade. The space that was
formerly occupied by The Oyster Bar has
been given a dramatic facelift, befitting of its prime
position on the prestigious South Perth foreshore.
The owners of Palais 85 had a distinct vision
when creating the fine dining restaurant -- they
wanted to introduce several different styles into
both the cuisine and decor to create a luxurious

menu featuring influences from the Middle

such as Goan crab corn cakes, East African
spiced lamb chops and sumac-crusted
venison fillet. Oysters, cheese platters,
coffee and dessert are available all day.
THE BEVERAGES: Palais 85 has an
extensive wine list and also offers many
local and imported beers. An impressive
variety of spirits is also available as are
liqueur coffees, plus regular coffee and tea.
THE COMPANY: The owners of Palais
85 have been in the hospitality industry
for 10 years and this restaurant is an
extension of their company, which is
already invested in resorts both north
and south of Perth. Chefs from the
Sheraton and Hyatt and a sommelier
from Four Seasons have been recruited
