The Cabin Small Bar | Bar/Restaurant | Perth Metro | Mt Hawthorn
Leather booth seating and faux fur
rugs create a rich, yet relaxed look.

gift shop, The Cabin features a dining space
plus booth seating, lounge area and balcony.
NUMBERS Licensed for 120, the venue holds 70
seated, 120 cocktail-style or 80 on the balcony.
FOOD As well as the ‘petit’-style menu, there
are various function menus, including one for
those wishing to have a ‘barbie’ on the balcony.

boutique beers, top-shelf spirits and cocktails,
can be served at the table, without food.
DETAILS There’s a DJ on Friday nights and local
musicians on Sunday afternoons. Cabin Club
members receive 10 percent off their function –
no fine print. They can become a member either
at the venue or by visiting the website.
Since opening in May 2009, The Cabin
Small Bar has quickly become a hip and
happening ‘place to be’. In 2009, it won
the Contemporary/Late Night Bar category at
WA’s AHA Aon Hotel Awards for Excellence
and was a finalist in the national awards.
Managing director Brendon Aitken says
The Cabin has changed the way people look at
their licensed venue options. By applying old-
school service principles and implementing
interior design, the bar offers supreme
functionality while remaining cosy, intimate
The Cabin is a versatile space that can be
configured to suit your event. Its eclectic,
kitsch fitout will certainly be a talking point
– feature brick walls display mounted stag
heads and rustic prints, while cabinets and
shelves showcase vases, books and artefacts.
Functions can be held inside on the main
floor, around the fireplace or on the large
wraparound balcony, which has views of the
city skyline. The balcony can be fully enclosed
and is large enough to hold a marquee or two.
A ‘petit’-style menu offers shared options
that are more substantial than tapas, – for
example, beef cheek with gnocchi and lemon
gremolata. There are also menus for sit-down
and cocktail-style events.
Those who love The Cabin may also like the
owners’ other venues – The Suite in Shenton
Park, and Boho Bar, scheduled to open in
Margaret River in late 2010.
