roome is famous for its spectacular
scenery and relaxed lifestyle, so it’s no
surprise that one of its most popular
venues, Matso’s Broome Brewery, combines
both of these elements.
The building, which dates back to 1910,
once housed the first bank of Broome
and features classic Broome architecture,
including corrugated iron walls, sloped
verandahs and cast iron bars over the
windows. Overlooking Roebuck Bay, it takes
in the striking contrast of turquoise water,
green mangroves and red pindan dirt.
Matso’s opens for breakfast, lunch and
dinner, and is a great place to have a meal with
friends or sample handcrafted, award-winning
beers. With its laid-back ambience, it’s also
an enticing venue for weddings, birthdays,
anniversary parties and business meetings.
Whatever the occasion, the professional, yet
relaxed, staff will help you coordinate all the
function details, from the format to menus.
Matso’s food is modern Australian with
a global twist. Canapes include Coffin Bay
oysters with cucumber salsa, nori rolls and
barramundi croquettes. From 6pm Friday to
Tuesday, a traditional Indian chef serves up
Broome’s best curries in the Curry Hut.
As for Matso’s famous beer, on any day
there are nine different brews to try, from the
hop-driven Hit the Toad Lager to the fruity
Mango Beer and the legendary Ginger Beer.
The products are also available to buy online.
Matso’s has a laid-back
and a beautiful view.
