The Rocks Albany
History | Formerly a vice-regal residence
of Western Australian state governors, The
Rocks Albany is an historic home that exudes
imperial style and provides impeccable
service in grand surrounds.
Functions | The Rocks is perfect for any
type of function, from intimate weddings to
open fundraising events. The venue welcomes
smaller corporate functions where privacy is
a key component, as well as lavish cocktail
soirees. On the west side of the building, the
Sunset Lounge captures stunning views of
the harbour and gardens. The Music Room
and Library feature 16-foot ceilings, grand
timber double doors, antique furniture and
a baby grand piano.
Accommodation | The Rocks Albany
is the only AAA rated five-star heritage
accommodation in Western Australia.
For those wishing to stay a bit longer, six
beautifully appointed guest rooms await,
along with an indulgent gourmet breakfast.
Amidst the Victorian elegance, guests can
enjoy features such as stunning views from
the verandahs, as well as a billiard room,
library and music room.
Awards | A gold-medal winner at the WA
Tourism Awards in 2006, The Rocks Albany is
again a finalist in the 2011 awards. The venue
also won silver at the 2011 Accommodation
Association of Australia Awards.
Where | Situated on Mt Melville in Albany,
the Rocks has stunning, unobstructed views
of Princess Royal Harbour and is just 500m
from the main entertainment, dining and
shopping area of Albany.
Numbers | The Sunset Lounge is ideal for
intimate wedding receptions for up to 48 seated
or 80 standing. The Music Room and Library can
accommodate up to 80 standing. These rooms can
also be set for a board-style meeting for 16.
