Originally built in 1838 as a mill for
timber cutting and flour grinding, The
Old Brewery today seamlessly combines
history and contemporary dining in a stunning
Named after the original Swan Brewery’s
first brew master, the grand Thomas Hardwick
Function Room can be configured several ways to
hold 20 to 120 people seated or up to 250 cocktail-
style. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors open onto an
exclusive terrace area. By night, the water reflects
the sparkle of the city lights, dazzling guests and
adding ambience to any event.
Running along the riverside windows of the
Thomas Hardwick Function Room, the Private
River Room is available for more intimate events.
Two semi-private areas are available for
lunch and dinner; the Wine-Rack End is ideal
for smaller groups, while the East-End Area
lends itself to larger, more relaxed functions.
Red Room is an elegant round table seating
up to ten guests. The riverside lawn area is ideal
for intimate weddings.
Function menus can be tailored to suit, and
degustation menus are available for groups of
up to 24. Chef Greg Farnan’s steakhouse-style
menu features more than 20 types of meat,
including the legendary Wagyu ‘Tomahawk’
steak (1.4-2.7kg, pioneered by Greg) that’s
hand-carved at your table.
The Old Brewery won Best Steakhouse four
years in a row from 2009, and Wedding Caterer
of the Year 2009 at the Restaurant & Catering WA
Awards for Excellence.

beers from the on-site microbrewery are

brews on tap, and a number of new seasonal
brews are also available.
