Step inside and be transported back in time
with one of the Prison’s fascinating tours.
Choose from one of the following: Doing
Time; Great Escapes; Tunnels; or Torchlight.
For a more formal style of function, the
Main Cell Block features four storeys of prison
cells that are divided into four divisions,
while the Commissariat consists of two stylish
underground rooms with thick limestone walls
– the perfect setting for cocktail parties.
Large double doors between each division
mean the space can be tailored to suit your
group size, making it ideal for themed events.
Originally built for inmates’ activities and as a
training ground for unskilled prisoners, the East
Workshops are perfect for presentations, award
nights and formal dinners.
Visit the Crown Theatre, Prison Yards,
Gatehouse and two Chapels, or explore the
tunnels 20m below the Prison on foot and by boat.
The onsite Convict Cafe can provide lunch
in the Special Handling Unit Meeting Room
for a day to remember, while a fantastic range
of giftware means guests will cherish their
memento of your unique prison function.
Where | Western Australia’s World Heritage-
listed Fremantle Prison is also a major tourist
attraction and venue for functions.
Numbers | The Prison can cater for groups of up
to 500. The capacities of each function space
are listed on the website.
Food | All functions require professional
catering and equipment must be brought to the
venue. Caterers can undertake a site visit with
the Prison’s Events Officer. The Convict Cafe
can also provide on-site catering.
